It is amazing what "administrators" do sometimes. Firing Pat Hill is perhaps one of the dumbest moves I have seen in a while. Yes the Bulldog program has been down a bit the last couple years. Yes they could not ever seem to deal with Boise State. Yes the "play anyone/anytime" policy of Hill's hurt his won/loss record. No matter. Hill is a darn good HC and would be an asset to a host of programs in D1 or IAA.
Those who made this decision are idiots. Mike Sherman is available for hire though and that ass Franchione may already be looking for an excuse to "move up." Anyone stupid enough to fire Hill may just be dumb enough to give either of those two a try.
