This humble forum is dedicated to the grand sport of college football, but that does not mean that, at times, other things can be discussed. There has been a baseball issue that has been of local interest.
The Astros are up for sale. Apparently the sale has not gone through at this time but, according to the "news" reports, the transaction is all but a done deal. Here is where the problem comes in to play.
The Houston organization is being discussed as perhaps moving to the American League. Now, I try to go to a game or two during the season but am no die hard fan of any team in the Houston area. I am, after all, a Southeastern Conference man. If the Astros do indeed move to the American League then I will be through with them. Why? The American League is not really baseball. If a "designated hitter" is used then the game is not really being played the proper way. Use of the DH takes away a lot of the strategy that goes into a game.
Nope. American League "baseball" is not the real deal. You can put that in your pipe and smoke it.
