My won loss record is starting off with a bang this week. 0-4 and it is not even Saturday yet. There may or may not be some redemption today. We will see.
I was pretty surprised to see UAB take down UCF Thursday night. I watched a bit of this one on the telly and Legion Field was pretty much empty. I would be surprised if there were more than 3,000 folks at the game. Pretty sad state of affairs in a football crazy state like Alabama. Of course no one would expect the Blazers to draw like the Tide or Tigers, but one would think they would at least attract a few more people than a high school game.
The bloom is off the rose at FIU. They probably have the talent to have easily won the SBC but things seem to be imploding. Right now the Cajuns are in the driver seat but don't rule out ASU or ULM.
Parity and mediocrity in the Big East? I would say so. Syracuse looked like a pretty good team in their beat down of WVU. It is easy to overlook the Orange but perhaps that is a mistake. The Big East is in trouble sure. To survive in football it will either have to merge or raid. It will be interesting to see how that all shakes out.
